Alice Pember (QMUL) and Benjamin Dalton (KCL) are proud to present the first ever symposium on Robin Campillo’s 2017 film 120 BPM, which follows the activist group ACT UP during the AIDS crisis in 90s Paris.

This symposium invites responses to the film from scholars from a diverse range of disciplines. We are delighted to welcome Dr Fiona Johnstone as our keynote, author of the forthcoming book AIDS and Representation: Portraits and Self Portraits During the AIDS Crisis in America

We are extremely grateful for the support of our sponsors The Society for French Studies (SFS), The Association for the Study of Modern and Contemporary France (ASMCF), the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies (BAFTSS), and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
